Science -
Silver Birch - please start with Lesson 3
Willow - Please start with Lesson 4

Lesson 3 -

Hi All, have a look at my video...don't laugh....try to carry out the two investigations involving looking at symbols through a glass bottle. You should also watch the 'refraction explained' video,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zarxpu43-ls&feature=emb_logo

which really helps you understand why light bends when it travels through mediums of different density.
The second video explains the results of the investigation you carried out.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ufRXSRo2-4&feature=emb_logo

Science - Lesson 4

This session is all about the visible spectrum of light. Do you know how we see a rainbow? Well this session will explain it. Please watch the first video about refraction through a prism.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aggi0g67uXM&feature=emb_logo

Then watch the presentation and then complete and carry out the Spectacular Spectrum activity sheet. When you've predicted what you think might happen and why cut out the spectrum wheel and colour the segments in with the colours of the rainbow, I would use pencils if you can. Remember that colours seen by the human eye, the most commonly cited and remembered sequence is Newton's sevenfold red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet, remembered by the mnemonic Richard Of York Gave Battle In Vain (ROYGBIV). You wheel only has 6 segments so you'll have to miss out indigo. What did you see?
After you've completed the investigation watch the final video 'Newton's Disc', hopefully it will explain

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_z7BDab3N7w&feature=emb_logo
Science - Lesson 5

I think we've all used our hands to make shadows of butterflies and birds on a wall; well this session gives you chance to get even more creative and perform a shadow puppet show.
First, see how many questions on the bingo sheet you can fill in, research any that you don't know and hand in the completed worksheet.
Next watch the presentation and embedded video to explain how shadows are formed. Have you ever seen your shadows change during the day? What have you observed?
Finally it's your turn to have a go at performing a shadow puppet show, first make some puppets and find some props and then film your production to send to us. Remember to change the position of the object to make the shadow change size and change the angle of the object to change its shape. I can't wait to see them.
Computing-

The children have been working on a piece of downloadable software called scratch 2 at school. It can be downloaded from here-
https://scratch.mit.edu/download/scratch2
but I understand if you do not wish to.
Obviously the children's work is saved at school, so below is a few scratch files that you can download and then open from 'downloads' into scratch2 to catch them up. The files are under the presentation file and have a file ending -   .sb2. I suggest that the children open Haunted House 3a and then save it under their name and add all their own work for the next lessons to it. However, if they wish to start their project again on their own, that is fantastic. The other Scratch files Haunted House 3b-4 are there to allow the children to see the scripts written for each sprite, it may help them write their own scripts.
The project so far should include the movement of a least two sprites and a sequence of events controlled by the 'broadcast and receive' command. The children should now try to include 'hide and show' commands to make their sprites appear when they wish them to and a change of background.
Please watch the Powerpoints and use the activity sheets to help.  Please feel free to ask any questions.
Art -please find several art activities which should take about an hour each.
