The PTA is a registered charity run by a group of parents and carers who raise funds for the school to provide essential and additional facilities and activities for all children. Our objectives are “to advance the education of pupils in the school in particular by:
· Developing effective relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the school;
· Engaging in activities or providing facilities or equipment which support the school and advance the education of the pupils.”
The current committee of around 20 members is Co-Chaired by Jen Plenty and Amy Hayden and we meet about once a month. You are more than welcome to attend these meeting once you are part of the school.
We organise and take part in a variety of fundraising activities from cake sales to quiz nights, discos and the mayor’s procession. Our main fundraisers are the Christmas and summer fairs and our involvement in the Cuckfield Bonfire. All of these need lots of parent input so there is plenty of opportunity to get involved!
We will be there on your little one’s first day at school, offering tea, tissues and the chance to meet other new parents.
Each term we produce a newsletter to help keep you informed about what we have been up to and how we you can get involved.
We also use a website/app called Classlist which is a great way to share information with you and keep you up to date. We have a Class Rep for each class who sends weekly reminders and updates to the rest of the class and help us co-ordinate class fundraisers and events.
Each year, we aim to raise over £6,000. This has gone towards projects such as the new library, ICT suite, IT equipment, line marking on the playground and playing field. Also supporting the Grounds Team with such projects as the pond renovation. We have also funded forest school learning and resources and we directly fund resources for individual classes. We are also able to fund an annual pantomime for the children, workshops and visits for the children to support their learning. We help fund theatre trips and History Day events and a popular disco for the children.
We look forward to welcoming you to the school and seeing you at our events. If you would like to contact us please feel free to email us at email@example.com.
